Elaine Huntsman
LCSW

"‘You are the expert on your life, even though you don’t feel like it right now.’ I consider it a privilege to work with individuals and couples, helping them to discover their inner strength and develop coping strategies, all while working through their various mental health challenges. I provide a non-judgmental, safe space to deal with trauma, depression, and anxiety, and everything that comes with that. Everyone, no matter what your background, has worth and value, and I look forward to helping you rediscover these in yourself.”

About

Elaine is an LCSW who specializes in depression and trauma, with sub-specialties in sexual trauma/assault and mission-related trauma. She addresses many mental health concerns in addition to her specialties, including anxiety, behavioral and substance addictions, religious concerns/trauma, eating/weight issues, and relationship trauma. She holds an undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and an MS from Drexel University in Philadelphia, and received her MSW from BYU in 2018.

She interned at Aspen Grove Behavioral Hospital and LDS Family Services, and worked at Family Services for several years. She recently returned from a three-year volunteer opportunity at the BYU Jerusalem Center where she counseled with students and other volunteers.

Elaine uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, TF-CBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as her primary modalities, and likes to add FSI, EFT, and Motivational Interviewing where appropriate.

Elaine grew up on the East Coast of the US and brings a unique, no-nonsense perspective to her therapy approach.
